California’s Tehachapi Mountains are dressed in spring green, as an eastbound BNSF steel coil train exits Tunnel 1 and slogs up the grade between Caliente and Bealville on February 27, 2016.

The BNSF Super Bowl 51 special flies down the west side of the Flint Hills on its way to a date in Houston. The lone GE has 19 cars in tow on the deadhead trip south.
